Bangladesh Increases Fuel Prices for Second Time
The country's Energy and Mineral Resources Division issued an official notification on Sunday, with the revised rates taking effect Monday. Octane, petrol, and kerosene each rose by 5 taka per liter, while diesel was spared from the latest round of increases.
Under the new pricing structure, octane now retails at 145 taka per liter, petrol at 140 taka, and kerosene at 135 taka. Diesel remains unchanged at 115 taka per liter.
The Division attributed the price revisions to ongoing fluctuations in global fuel oil markets, offering no indication of when rates might stabilize.
